hello i am the one the proud grandsons of Claude M Mabie grandpa owned land in little park and south of glade park store as well as several parcels on pinon mesa all the way to the top,my name is bill mabie grandpa had a sheep outfit for many years i spent a few summers working the ranch with his son Ernie and my brother herb this was in the late 60,s grandpa was instrumental in developing little park the old scarlet place up on top was my favorite place we had an old cabin near the small lake up top we also built endless fences using cedar posts of course i welcome any and all correspondence.

The memories I will forever and ever cherish ,summer picnics ,sleeping in the Scarlet cabin all the wildlife . Goodness gracious thank you Billy for doing this

Hi Cousins, this is Christi Draper Gibson. It certainly is fun to read the shared memories. Those were great days riding high on the stock rails as Grandpa or Ernie drove down the curvey Colorado NationalMonument road. I'd die before i'd have let one of my kids do that LOL.

My late husband knew her well, Allen Kelly, and I talked to her on the phone, but unfortunately, I never wrote down any of the stories Allen told, and he told a lot of historical stories, so it is everyones loss

hi again to some of the finest people back in the day 1968 69 i remember the stock mans picnic i was 13 14 the giant leg of beef cooked to a T and my grandma Mabies Delicious blue berry pie,s im 60 now the memories will never go away.

GLADE PARK

I have fond memories of Grandpa Mabie at Glade Park, Uncle Ernie would take us up there for a picnic at the old cabin. We played with my cousins and hunted for Horney Toads. I remember eating Fried Chicken, Watermelon, and ice cold soda (it was kept in a spring). We also cut down Christmas Trees in the winter delivering them to family and friends. Great memories, thanks Bill for getting this started!
