Duane Charles Brouse, 88, Glade Park, died Dec. 20, 2008, at his home. Services will be private.

Mr. Brouse was an aeronautics mechanic.

Survivors include his wife, Betty; three sons, Rusty and Lee, both of Glade Park, and Kit of Farmington, N.M.; one daughter, Ricky Gleason of Montrose; one sister, Thelma Cheatham of Fruita; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

In his final years Duane Brouse was lovingly cared for at home by his wife Betty and his sons Rusty and Lee.

I was so very sad to hear about Duane's death. I didn't know about it until my son forwarded me the email from your website. Duane was such a wonderful, kind and caring man. We have lived across the street from the Brouse family for the last 20 years and think very highly of the entire family. Duane was one of the many volunteers to lend a hand using his own equipment during the big Glade Park fire back in 1989. I have photos of Duane on his skidsteer heading down the road to cut trenches and do what he could to help contain the fire. He was a wonderful man and will be dearly missed.
