New Wilderness Bill for Granite Creek area 11/03/09

I thought all of Glade Park should know of a House Bill that Rep. DeGette is sponsoring to place the Granite Creek area in a Wilderness designation. Here is the link to her site;

My understanding is that this has been in the works for years. BLM seems to have finally gotten someone to sponsor legislation for what has been a fait accompli. I know someone who has mineral rights on a quartz field, and has for years been denied use of it on the basis of a future-pending wilderness area designation.

How much land can they tie up and "preserve" before ordinary folks have had enough?
