Stoat (Ermine) sighting

Recently, while-bow hunting for rabbits, I came across a critter that I had not seen before. After recognizing that it was definitely not a rabbit, I took out my camera and snapped a couple of photos. I did some quick research to find out that it was a Stoat (Mustela erminea, a.k.a Ermine or short-tailed weasel) sporting its white winter coat. I was able to get about 2 feet away by the time that I took the best pictures. One of the many reasons why I enjoy living in Glade Park is the variety of wildlife.

Great picture!
by: Theresa

We saw one a few years ago on B 1/4 Rd. It was a darker color, but just as cute! We thought we were seeing things. :)

Captivating photo
by: Bobbi Miller

We used to have weasels living in our woodpile on the mountain, but it has been years since we've seen any. Thanks for this great photo.

Wow! I had no idea they lived up there. I wonder if they are native? They are so cute.
