Passing of Sylvia West - Former Glade Park Resident

Teresa, John, Jill, and all the folks in Glade Park:

I just wanted to let you know, and this is the only way I have found, that Mom, Sylvia West passed away here in Texas on June 3rd. Mom was a 15 year resident of Glade Park, and it broke her heart to leave there. But the sale of her home there on 8.4 rd forced her to relocated to Missouri, then here in Texas with me in 2009.

She had all of her animals moved down here too, but as time went on, most of them have too passed. When she died, she had only one horse left and two goats. We found good homes for them all.

The doctors informed us that over the last 2-5 years she had suffered several small strokes, causing some falls, in which she had done some damage to her brain. Irreversible damage. Although she was still independent, and still relatively healthy, this happened so fast, yet so peaceful.

Her heart muscle was so weak that it continually silently formed these small blood clots, breaking loose, causing the mini-strokes. She ultimately died from congestive heart failure. Fortunately she never had to live in an extended care facility, as she would have never approved of that. For that we will always be thankful. She fell ill around May 6, of this year (2011) and passed away on June 3rd.

May peace be with her through eternity.

I just wanted to let the folks in Glade Park know, that she really loved living in your community.

Always,
Lori Young
